Ferret racing at shows and fetes
During the summer months, we take the ferrets out to Shows and Fetes, putting on ferret racing. Not only is this a fun day out for both us and the ferrets, but it gives us a chance to promote ferret welfare as well as earning some much needed funds for the rescue. We attend all sorts of shows, from school fetes to country shows.
Anyone who has adopted ferrets from the rescue is welcome to come along - the more hands the merrier! For those of you who enjoy camping, we have several shows which go over the whole weekend. Check our Events Calendar to see where we are going this year.

Ferret racing at corporate events
We also run Corporate Events for entertainment and fundraising, for cricket and rugby clubs, scouts and even the army. Ferret Race Nights are a fun, live interactive way to raise money for not only our rescue but also your cause or charity.
Ideal for your Charity / Fundraising Event by putting the FUN in FUNdraising!
Before the day/night:
You scrounge prizes and beg for sponsorship for FIVE races (local businesses etc.) – the races can then be named: Denzils Deli Derby, Suzies Salon Stakes, etc.You get SIXTEEN names for the ferrets (Dashing Denzil or Slinky Suze for example) and “sell” the ferrets so the “owner” of the winning ferret gets a small prize on the night.You could also organise a raffle, treasure map, fish supper and sell tickets for whole event.
On the day/night:
We bring along the team, the course and 16 ferrets and run four races and a Grand Final.We can sell £1 betting tickets on the night with “double your money stakes” – you get to keep the profits for your charity!Each heat winner goes through to the final.Each ferret in the final is “auctioned off” prior to the race and the winning owner gets a prize.

Insurance
STA Ferret Rescue is a branch of the British Federation of Ferret Welfares.
Public Liability Insurance to the sum of £5,000,000 has been arranged with Zurich Insurance plc through the BFFW enabling us to attend and conduct ferret racing and public relation events, and operate the rescue.
